Assistant Commissioner of Police P Asokan told the media that the man was not very happy after his release from jail because his family members did not take care of him properly. He told police that no one at home had to call him lazy or pull his leg.

Surprisingly, he said that in addition to the food, he was remembering his friends in prison. After being arrested on charges of theft in March, Gyan Prakasham was released on June 29 after issuing a mail. Gyan Prakasham told police that life was not easy after being released. He thought it was right to steal again to go to jail. A police official said his wife and children always abused him. So he decided to eat better and return to prison for his friends. Gyan Prakasham also told the police that he had left the house thinking of planning to return to prison.
