Patna: Bihar is in turmoil these days over the caste census. A delegation of 11 leaders along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today over the same issue. The meeting lasted for more than 40 minutes. Meanwhile, the leaders demanded that there should be a caste census in the country to accelerate the development of backward castes. In fact, there has been a demand for caste census for decades and now once again this voice has been raised from Bihar.

In fact, this demand has been made by many other political parties. After the meeting, Nitish Kumar said, "All people have demanded a caste census from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. All political parties in Bihar have the same view on this." At the same time, Nitish Kumar also said, "There was a statement from a minister in the government that there would be no caste census, so we spoke later. Nitish Kumar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has listened to us.''

On the other hand, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "This will continue to be a historic task, when animals are counted, then there should be a human count. Even if counting is taking place on the basis of religion, it should also be counted on the basis of caste." On behalf of RJD, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, former Chief Minister Jiten Ram Manjhi from Hindustani Awam Morcha (HUM), Janak Ram, minister in Bihar government on behalf of BJP, Minister Mukesh Sahni from Developing Human Party (VIP) joined the delegation. Ajit Sharma from Congress, Suryakant Paswan from CPI, Ajay Kumar from CPM, Mehboob Alam from CPI Male, and Akhtarul Iman from AIMIM attended the delegation.
