India's campaign in the Badminton Asia Team Championships is over. In this championship held in Malaysia, the Indian men's team has not been able to make it to the knockouts after losing their match on Friday. The men's team was beaten 3-2 by three-time champions Indonesia.

Prior to which the Indian men's team had lost 0-5 to Korea and came after beating Hong Kong 3-2. He also had to beat Indonesia at any cost to reach the knockout stage. India was ranked third in the group behind Indonesia and Korea. World Championship bronze medalist Lakshya Sen has also defeated Chico Ora de Vardoyo 21-18, 27-25 in the men's section.

Manjunath Mithun has defeated Jonathan Ramli 21-12, 15-21, 21-17. However, in the doubles category, two inexperienced pairs and singles player Kiran George have also faced defeat. Manjit Singh and Dinku Singh were also defeated by Leo Rolly Carnado and Daniel Martin 21-16, 21-10. After which Ikhsan Leonardo Emmanuel Rumbe defeated Kiran 21-13, 17-21, 21-10. India's Hariharan Amsakaroonan and Ruben R Kumar were defeated by Mohammad Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Moulana 21-10, 21-10.
