Bhopal: The news of a bomb on an IndiGo flight from Raja Bhoj airport in Madhya Pradesh to Agra on Thursday created a stir. The CISF immediately stopped the passengers in the security hold area and started an investigation of the aircraft. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief when the news turned out to be wrong. The flight got delayed by about half an hour in this round.
According to the airport officer, at around 9 am on Thursday, the control room of the Central Industrial Security Force received information that explosives had been placed in a plane going from Hyderabad to Bhopal via Agra. Deputy Commandant CISF said, 'An alert message was issued immediately from the control room. By then the passengers coming from Hyderabad to Bhopal got off the plane. Passengers travelling from Bhopal to Agra were stopped. The soldiers searched the aircraft, but no explosives were found. After the news, Intelligence Bureau and police officers also reached the spot.
IndiGo issued a statement saying that at around 9:00 am, the control room of the Central Industrial Security Force had received information that explosive material was kept in the flight from Hyderabad to Bhopal via Agra. The CISF staff was stunned by this news. Immediately an alert message was issued from the control room and the soldiers were asked to remain alert. By that time the passengers coming from Hyderabad to Bhopal had landed and the passengers going from Bhopal to Agra were about to board the plane. For safety's sake, passengers were asked to stop. The plane was immediately investigated, but no explosive material was found in the plane. The news of the bomb turned out to be a rumour, after which everyone heaved a sigh of relief.
