On Friday, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted that buyers who have already paid 20,000 will have a last payment window on January 21 at 6 p.m. on the Ola app. With the tweet, he also wished everyone a happy Lohri, Sankranti, and Pongal. "Lohri ki lakh lakh vadhaiyan, Sankrati ki shubhkaamnayein, Pongal vazhthukkal!" tweeted Aggarwal. We're basking in the glow of our own harvest. A sea of scooters beckons! All clients who have paid $20,000 will have a final payment window open on January 21 at 6 p.m. in the Ola App. We'll send in January and February."

With the tweet, Ola CEO posted a clip of hundreds of Ola S1 Scooters lined up inside the ride-hailing aggregator turned electric vehicle manufacturer's 'Futurefactory.' In July 2021, Ola Electric launched pre-launch bookings for their electric scooters for $499, and the company got 1 lakh orders in just 24 hours. Despite the delivery timeline being established, the delivery of this electric scooter was delayed. After facing fan criticism over delivery delays, the company announced e-scooter deliveries on December 16 of last year. Customers in Chennai and Bengaluru received the first 100 scooters.

Last year, Ola Electric released its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters, which were inspired by the Etergo AppScooter.

The Ola electric scooters have already begun to be delivered to customers, who have given them a mixed reception. While users have praised the Ola scooters' features and style, the real-world range of the scooters has been said to be far less than the range announced by the EV firm.

Ola Electric's S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are made in the company's facility in the Krishnagiri area of Tamil Nadu, which is spread over 500 acres. During its initial phase, the facility will be able to produce 2 million e-scooters, with a capacity of up to 10 million units in the future. Ola's CEO stated last week that the plant produces almost 1000 scooters every day.
