In March, the makers of The Zoya Factor featuring Sonam K Ahuja and Dulquer Salmaan had announced that the film will hit the screens on June 14. As the film is based on cricket, the team decided to release it in between the world cup earlier.
However, thinking about the box-office business and some post-production delays, The Zoya Factor has now been pushed to a September 20 release. The film is being directed by Abhishek Sharma. The actor had also shared the first look of the film featuring the two of them a few months ago.
Sonam took to her Instagram handle and announced the release date with a new poster of the film. She captioned it as, "We're back after the strategic timeout...Catch #TheZoyaFactor in cinemas on 20th September 2019. Starring @DQSalmaan, directed by #AbhishekSharma. @foxstarhindi."
The movie is based on Anuja Chauhan's best-selling novel by the same name ‘The Zoya Factor’. According to reports, the film is about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki who meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency and becomes a lucky charm for the team in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Zoya starts liking the skipper Nikhil Khoda who doesn't even believe in luck and superstitions, after acknowledging that she’s a sort of lucky charm.
