The royal family published an unreleased photo of the late monarch in advance of Monday, September 19, when Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest. During the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June of this year, the unseen portrait was taken. The late monarch's iconic smile, which will always be remembered, is captured in the portrait.
The never before the seen portrait was shared on the official Instagram handle of the Royal Family along with a caption which read, "Ahead of Her Majesty The Queen’s Funeral, a new photograph has been released. It was taken this year to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, as she became the first British Monarch to reach this milestone." The caption further read, "Tomorrow, millions will come together to commemorate her remarkable life,” honouring the monarch’s life.
Queen Consort Camilla also mentioned the Queen’s smile recently in a special televised tribute that she paid to her mother-in-law and Britain’s longest-serving monarch. Speaking to BBC, she said, "She's got those wonderful blue eyes, that when she smiles they light up her whole face. I will always remember her smile. That smile is unforgettable."
