As they honoured their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and recalled all the special moments they had with her, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie sent a heartfelt statement on Instagram. Following the monarch's demise, the granddaughters released a joint statement in which they praised their relationship with the Queen.

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice sent their passionate homage to the Queen with the words, "Dearest Grannie," along with a childhood photograph of the pair with Queen Elizabeth. The statement also stated, "There have been tears and laughter, silences and chatter, hugs and loneliness, and a collective loss for you, our beloved Queen and our beloved Grannie. We, like many, thought you'd be here forever. And we all miss you terribly."

In addition, the granddaughters expressed gratitude to Queen Elizabeth for their time spent with her, adding, "Thank you for making us laugh, for including us, for picking heather and raspberries, for marching soldiers, for our teas, for comfort, for joy. You, being you, will never know the impact you have had on our family and so many people around the world."

Prince Charles has now been named as the future monarch of Britain following the passing of Queen Elizabeth. The message ended with a note shared for their "beloved uncle," King Charles III, mentioning how, like their grandmother, he would devote his life to serving the country. The message was likewise closed with the phrase "God save the King."
