Prince Harry was seen wearing his military uniform as he joined Prince William and Queen Elizabeth's other grandchildren for the vigil at her grave after receiving special permission. To honour the monarch, they were accompanied by their cousins Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Viscount Severn.
Prince Harry followed Prince William as he entered the procession. Both men were wearing Blues and Royals uniforms. Harry was previously denied the right to wear his uniform during the procession of Queen Elizabeth's service as her coffin was transported to Westminster Hall, which sparked a significant internet debate considering his ten years of service to the British Army.
During the 15-minute vigil, Prince William stood at the front of Her Majesty's casket with Peter and Zara, the children of Princess Anne, beside him. During the vigil, Prince Harry was spotted standing next to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew's two kids.
According to People, a royal source mentioned, "The grandchildren, at the King's invitation, are very keen to pay their respects — just as their parents are doing the evening before." Prince Harry was also given permission to wear his uniform for the vigil, according to a palace source "at the King's request." In a previous statement, a representative for Harry claimed that he was unaffected by the choice to forgo donning the uniform during the funeral service and that he would wear whatever was required since he wanted to honour his grandma.
