The Super Mario Bros. Movie released on 5 April, Director by Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath with cast Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black.

Mario the plumber has been one of the most popular video game characters since he first appeared in Donkey Kong in 1981, hopping over barrels and dashing up girders.True, Super Mario Bros., starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, was a disappointment, but The Lego Movie was related to a series of plastic building sets, which was fantastic. Wreck-It Ralph showed how brilliant a cartoon set in a video-game environment might be.

Plot: The plot focuses on our favourite Brooklyn boys, Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day). While looking for work for their plumbing company, the two come across a mysterious pipe that takes them to another realm. When Mario finds himself in the Mushroom Kingdom, Luigi finds himself in the Dark Lands. This is the start of the adventure in which Mario tries to save Luigi. In order to accomplish so, he meets Princess Peach and her toads, who are determined to stop Bowser from destroying the kingdom. They enlist the assistance of the Jungle Kingdom and are successful.

The Super Mario Bros. film is driven by nostalgia. The 90s kid who spent their childhood playing the game will find it funny and will enjoy spotting many references.  The background score is appropriate and will attract to your inner kid. The animation is excellent, and directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic worked hard to get it as similar to the original as possible.

The story is missing from the Super Mario Bros. movie. From the start, it is clear that the storyline would be weak. It appears that all attempts were made to display a part of the initial game, with little concern for what the tale will be about. Mario and Luigi represent opposite ends of the spectrum. Throughout the one-and-a-half-hour film, you are taken to a magical realm in which everyone has a sad backstory. It is a not a sensational film and lacks balance.

The Super Mario Bros. movie is only worth seeing once. Expect little more than nostalgia from a gaming adaptation. The tunes will make you jump and will undoubtedly remind you of your childhood. Apart from that, this movie lacks the attraction of an engaging storyline.
