The summer vacation in the Supreme Court of the country will be from 22 June to 3 July. During this time, only important cases will be heard in the apex court through video conferencing. According to the circular released on Friday, from the 22nd to 26th June, the first week of summer vacation, two benches (Judge in the Chamber and Registrar's Court) will hear through video and teleconferencing. Two bench cases will be heard from June 30 to July 3 for the second week of the holiday. The court has also issued guidelines regarding new cases and different email IDs for different cases.

According to the media report, during the lockdown, the Supreme Court is going to achieve the special target of hearing more than seven thousand cases through video conferencing. Since the lockdown imposed on March 25 in the country, 617 Benches of the Supreme Court have heard 6,991 cases through video conferencing. Out of these 617 benches, 293 heard the main cases through video conferencing while the other 324 benches considered reconsideration petitions. Not only this, the Registrar's Court also considered 150 cases.

According to the information given on the website of the Supreme Court, there was a rapid increase in the participation of lawyers in the trial of cases through video conferencing. Around 25,000 lawyers used the video link. Not only this, various benches of the apex court also pronounced 670 decisions during this period. Of these, there were 132 main cases while 538 were related to them. During this period, the court also issued guidelines for the prevention of corona in jails and hearing of cases through video conferencing. According to information received from the website, the Supreme Court has been at the forefront of the courts hearing cases through video conferencing.
