Vidya Sinha is one of the most popular actresses of her time. The actress has been featured in various major hit bollywood films. She was born on November 15, 1947, in Mumbai and started her career at the age of 18. She had won the title of Miss Bombay, after which she had decided to shift her life to acting. The actress made her debut with Chhotu Bihari's movie, Raj Kaka and since then, she never had to look back. Vidhya Sinha had fallen in love with her neighbor Venkateswara Iyer. He belonged to a Tamil Brahmin family. Vidya and Venkateswara got married in 1968. After this, in 1989, adopted a girl named Jhanvi. Vidya's husband Venkateswara Iyer became ill. She used to serve her daughter and husband day and night. But her efforts went in vein Venkateswara Iyer passed away in 1996 after a prolonged illness.

After her husband’s death, The actress moved to Sydney. There she met Netaji Bhimrao Salunke, an Australian doctor. Both of them decided to get married. They got married in a temple. Her married life with her second husband was very traumatic. On 9 January 2009, Vidya filed a police complaint against her second husband Netaji Bhimrao. Vidya had accused her husband of physical and mental harassment. Vidya and Netaji Bhimrao got divorced soon after filing the case. After a long battle in the court, Vidya won the maintenance case.

On the career front, Vidhya Sinha has worked in films like Rajnigandha, Pati, Patni Aur Woh, Inkaar, Chhoti Si Baat, and many more. She had even worked in a few television serials as well. She was featured in Kubool Hai, Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Chandra Nandini from recent ones. Vidya Sinha had taken her last breath in 2019 after suffering from liver and heart ailments.
