Kajol and the creators of her upcoming web series The Trial - Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha released the trailer on Monday. The Trial is Kajol's first OTT film, and it will be available on Disney+ Hotstar. Kajol plays Noyonika Sengupta, a housewife who is compelled to return to work as a lawyer after her husband is imprisoned due to a public scandal.
The trailer for The Trial began with Kajol coming to grips with her husband, an additional judge played by Jisshu Sengupta, being imprisoned for receiving sexual favors as bribes to modify rulings. She slaps him in rage for cheating on her before joining him as the faithful wife as he is led away in a police vehicle as the news breaks. Next, Kajol's Noyonika does something she hasn't done in years: she returns to court. She suffers criticism from both her colleagues and the general public as she seeks justice for herself and her family.
The Disney+ Hotstar series, directed by Suparn Verma, is an Indian adaptation of the American series The Good Wife, which stars Julianna Margulies. The show debuted in 2009 and has seven seasons. It came to an end in 2016. In The Trial, Kajol will play a housewife who returns to work as a lawyer when her husband is imprisoned due to a scandal. Jisshu Sengupta, Sheeba Chaddha, and Kubbra Sait are among those who appear in the series.
