Jaipur: The year-long wait is finally over, as the summer festival, the glory of Mount Abu in Rajasthan, is going to begin in a few days. Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, is a major centre of attraction for tourists from all over the world in the summer. Every year, the summer festival is held here in May and June, which tourists from far and wide come to see. Summer Festival is a festival of folk and classical music and gives a glimpse of the tribal life and culture of the province.
The annual festival at Mount Abu is scheduled to begin on May 13 and will continue till May 15. The three-day festival will see many cultural and traditional glimpses. This has been informed by Rajasthan Tourism through its official handle of the indigenous social media platform, Koo App, after which the enthusiasm of art lovers has doubled. The special thing is that this summer festival at Mount Abu is held every year during Buddha Purnima, which begins with a grand ballad. This is followed by a mesmerizing folk dance. Boat races are also organized at Nakki Lake and processions throughout Mount Abu during this festival.
What happens at the festival?
The Mount Abu Summer Festival begins with love songs and traditional processions, which witness a wonderful confluence of Rajasthani and Gujarati folk dances and folk music. Along with this, there are many types of competitions, cultural programs and entertaining programs in this program. The festival includes a lot of activities such as horse race, boat race in Nakki Lake, Matka race, tug of war, skating race, and band show. The event is characterized by the Sham-e-Qawwali, which is attended by many well-known qawwali singers. At the end of the festival, there are a lot of fireworks and with this, the Mount Abu Summer Festival comes to an end.
