New Delhi: Fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi has also lost his last chance to appeal against extradition before the UK Supreme Court. Now he has no legal option left in the UK. Only last week, Indian authorities filed a reply to the UK Supreme Court on fugitive diamond merchandiser Nirav Modi's petition seeking permission to appeal against his extradition order.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), fighting a legal battle on behalf of the Government of India in the UK courts, filed its reply in the court against the appeal of 51-year-old Nirav Modi. For information, let us tell you that this whole scam was done through the connivance of three companies of fugitive businessman Nirav Modi, his officials, and officials of Punjab National Bank (PNB).

Let us tell you that this is a case of bank fraud of more than 13,000 crores. Nirav Modi in connivance with the officials of PNB's Barty House branch had perpetrated this fraud through fake debentures amounting to over Rs 11,000 crore. After this Nirav Modi fled abroad even before the case was registered and is currently in Britain. However, now the way has been cleared to bring the fugitive Nirav to India.
