The well-known pop star Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye has become one of the biggest chart stars of the last decade. The Canadian star said, "We all grow up watching the world's biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position.”

The pop star has more than 45 platinum and singles and albums. The 2021 Super Bowl half-time show is a prestigious gig in music including Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. He says his inspiration follows in the footsteps of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. The 30-year-old revealed, “I’m humbled, honoured and ecstatic to be the centre of that infamous stage this year.” Roc Nation chief said, “The Weeknd has introduced a sound all his own. His soulful uniqueness has defined a new generation of greatness in music and artistry. This is an extraordinary moment in time and the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show is going to be an extraordinary experience with an extraordinary performer.”
