Pune: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old hospital ward boy has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife by injecting her with an injection in Maharashtra's Pune district. Along with the murder of the woman, the criminal husband had also tried to prove it to be suicide but failed. Police gave this information on Wednesday.

An officer from Paud police station said that the criminal Swapnil Sawant killed his wife due to his affair with a nurse. The criminal's girlfriend Nurse worked with him in a private hospital and he was planning to marry her. Sawant had married Makar Priyanka Kshetra five months ago and the couple lived in a rented house in Kasar Amboli village of Mulshi tehsil. On November 14, Sawant rushed Priyanka to the hospital in critical condition where doctors declared her brought dead. Inspector Manoj Yadav said, "A suicide note signed by Priyanka was also received. Based on this, a case of domestic violence and abetment to suicide was registered against Sawant."

But investigations revealed that Sawant had stolen some drugs and injections, including vecuronium bromide, nitroglycerin injection, and Lox 2 percent, from the hospital where he worked. He had killed his wife by giving her the same injection. Further investigation into the case is underway.
