Dehradun: The groom's second wife and other women, who had come to perform the third marriage at Gadarpur in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, thrashed him with slippers. Police, who rushed to the spot, barely rescued the groom from the angry family members and rushed him to the police station. During interrogation, a case of the groom leaving a girl after divorcing her in the past and raping a girl has also come to notice.
The wedding ceremony was going on at a Dharamshala here on Friday afternoon. The procession had arrived. The rituals of welcoming the groom were going on. It was then that the woman, a resident of Mahavan police station area of Mathura district, reached there with a police team along with her family members. The woman said that the bridegroom, a resident of Moradabad, had married her on April 27, 2021. Because of his actions, she had gone away. She came to know that her husband was getting married in Gadarpur. When the police questioned the groom about this, he got scared. People on the bride's side were also stunned to know his truth. The joys of the wedding were disturbed.
The same police tried to convince both sides. In the meantime, the woman (wife) took out the slippers and started beating the groom. Seeing the groom being beaten up, the women on the bride's side also started showering slippers on him. The policemen present on the occasion rescued the groom from the angry crowd and brought him to the police station. On the other hand, the housemates of the groom who had brought the procession were also dissipated. Traders led by trade body president Deepak Behar also reached the police station and demanded action against the groom. Till the time of writing the news, no complaint was submitted to the police by the woman and the bride's side in the matter.
