Ritambhara Sharma has the distinction of becoming the youngest player to win a bronze medal in the first online International Invitational Poomsei Taekwondo competition. Six-year-old Ritambhara set this record in the Kids 2-A category. In the competition concluded last week, 70 club players from 32 countries participated. In this, the players of Jammu and Kashmir, representing India, won a total of 16 medals, including three gold, three silver and 10 bronze medals.
Advocate Devaki Nandan Pangotra, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association, has congratulated the youngest medal winner in the competition, Ritambhara Sharma, for this magnificent achievement. Giving credit to coach Atul Pangotra, he said that in the future, other players of the state including Ritambhara will perform well in the competition and made the country proud. Ritambhara International is a student of Delhi Public School. The school management also congratulated her for this magnificent achievement.
Six participants of the state participated in an international webinar organized by the Athletics Federation of India. The names of Nirmal Singh, Chamel Singh, Narendra Pal Sharma, Vikesh Sharma, Gautam Sharma and Aman Sambyal were recommended by the Jammu and Kashmir Athletics Association for an international webinar. The webinar introduced participants to the latest technology and new rules in athletics. The webinar was inaugurated by Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju. It was attended by participants from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldweep, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
