Amaravati: 52,341 doctors have registered names in the AP Medical Council, which was formed after the state division. Of these, 34,546 MBBS doctors are 17,795 specialists. The highest number of doctors from Guntur district is 7,491. Visakhapatnam and Krishna districts are next. The lowest number of names were 1,172 from Vizianagaram district. Only 12.67% of the public service registered.

After the YSRCP government came to power, the health sector has taken over 1,550 medical personnel as never before. There are 695 specialist doctors. There are 700 mbbs doctors. The rest were selected for the jobs with diploma.
