A video of Bollywood's famous actor Dilip Kumar is becoming fiercely viral on social media. In this video, Dilip Kumar is seen recalling a meeting with former Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi and mentioning the things that happened during it in front of the people. In it, he explains how Indira Gandhi compared Bollywood films to films from other countries in front of him and underestimated Indian films.

One of the biggest stars of Indian cinema recalled that incident, saying, "Once I was having breakfast with Jawaharlal Nehru. At that time Indira Gandhi intervened in our discussion and asked me what kind of films do you make.'' She said I was in Paris, went to Moscow, I heard the Symphonic Orchestra of London, watched plays, and watched movies there. How beautiful and attractive it is, what happens to your Indian films? On this, Dilip Kumar had said that even after our PM Jawaharlal Nehru was such a big personality, his daughter was going beyond her limits. She says that there is no Hindustanism in your movies. What kind of industry is this? Asked why Indian films are so far behind. Dilip Kumar said that he listened to her for about 10-15 minutes. Thereafter, he felt it necessary to respond accurately to the criticisms of Indira Gandhi.

Dilip Kumar had told Indira, "For 10-15 minutes you said a lot, which was really true. It would be a dare to deny that. It would be foolish if we say that our Indian cinema is good, very good, and is making great progress.'' I want to tell you that you are saying that there is no Hindustan in our films, but there is not a single Hinduism word in the 12 minutes you have been talking about. You are speaking in English. Today, roads need to be improved. Today we are developing our roads, irrigation, education, hospitals, etc. They are trying to build good relations with other countries. Dilip Kumar further told her (Indira), "Every year we go out to beg, sometimes for the grains, sometimes for wheat, sometimes for rice, sometimes for oil. As of now, our people do not have clean water to drink. We don't have a good education. Yes, our films are bad. But not only is our film industry bad, but we also have bad education. Our roads are worse. Let me tell you, even under your rule, a lot of things are ugly and weak.'' Dilip Kumar further said that at first, he thought Jawaharlal Nehru would be angry with his words, but after a few moments of silence, he (Nehru) says that if he was in his place, he would not have been so humble. Dilip Kumar's speech explains why poverty was highlighted in films made during Congres's rule in the first few decades after India's independence. As Dilip Kumar pointed out, the main reason for this is that in those days there was poverty in every sphere of life in India. This was in stark contrast to the new India today, where infrastructure and industries are being given special attention by the government. Schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Toilets for All, and Jal Jeevan Yojana are fulfilling the basic needs of every Indian, which they were deprived of till now. Not only this, but today's films are also more influential than the films made in that era.
