New Delhi: The biggest weapon to prevent the uncontrollable pace of corona in India is to vaccinate more people as quickly as they can. The Central Government is constantly making efforts for this. On Monday, the Central government decided that from May 1, anyone above the age of 18 years in the country can get corona vaccine.

It is interesting to note that the demand for vaccines in the country is going to increase further even when many States are already facing a shortage of vaccines. In order to ensure that the world's largest vaccination campaign is not hampered, the Central Government has given 100% advance of two months to the serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech, vaccine manufacturing companies in India. According to reports, the Central Government has paid a total amount of Rs 4,500 crore to both the companies.

3,000 crore has been paid to the serum institute that manufactures covishield and Rs.1500 crore for Bharat Biotech which manufactures covaxin. Last week, the Centre had also approved 65 crore grants for the Bengaluru facility of Bharat Biotech.
