Rajkot: A new controversy has arisen regarding Gandhi's poetry at Saurashtra University in Rajkot, Gujarat. Akhand Kavya Mahakubh was organized here under the Amrit Festival of Independence, in which 75 poets recited poetry continuously for 24 hours. In this Mahakumbh, the poet Devkrishna Vyas of Madhya Pradesh recited a poem. The controversy escalated only after this poem. The Congress has alleged that some controversial words about Mahatma Gandhi have been used in the poem.
In this case, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Nidat Barot has said that Devkrishna Vyas has used derogatory words for Bapu in his poetry recitation. This has brought disgrace not only to Gujarat but to the country. Barot has demanded that a case should be registered against Devkrishna Vyas in the police.
Saurashtra University Vice Chancellor Prof. Girish Bhimani said that Saurashtra Mahakumbh Poetry was organized on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. If there is talk of derogatory words, the chairman of the Gujarati subject will be questioned. Will be able to give more information in this matter only after inquiry. If any criminal is found in the investigation, then action will be taken against him.
