Patna: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in 26 districts of Bihar on Thursday. At the same time, a warning of lightning has been issued in North Bihar and Seemanchal. According to the Meteorological Department, many districts including Patna, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Ara, Gaya, and Purnea may receive cloudy rain today. There is a possibility of rain with thundershowers in the capital Patna till noon.
According to the latest update from Patna Meteorological Centre, Gaya, Nalanda, Patna, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Banka and Bhagalpur may receive light to moderate rainfall on Saturday. Apart from this, rain is also expected in some areas in Buxar, Kaimur, Bhabua, Aurangabad, Arwal, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Begusarai, Khagaria, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, and Katihar.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department issued an alert of a thunderstorm in North Bihar. According to this, thunderstorms are possible at one or two places in East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj and Katihar districts. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainfall figure this year is much below normal. By now, the state should have received 828.7 mm of rainfall. In comparison, there is only 536 mm of rainfall. There is a shortage of about 35 per cent rainfall in the state. Due to this, drought conditions have arisen in many places in South Bihar.
