The United States ranks first, with Switzerland, known as the "Heaven on Earth," placing 10th. The TTDI evaluates countries based on factors and policies that promote sustainable development in the travel and tourism sector, contributing to overall national development. The 2024 index includes 119 countries, indicating that the top 10 attract the most tourists globally.

India's Ranking:
India ranks 39th in the TTDI. The WEF highlights India's natural resources (6th), cultural resources (9th), and non-leisure resources (9th) as significant contributors to its tourism industry.

Tourism significantly impacts the global economy, with millions traveling to various destinations annually. According to the World Economic Outlook Report, the tourism industry grew by 2.9% in 2024, following a 3% increase in 2023.
