New Delhi: The BJP's exercise to woo the opposition for the presidential election has intensified. On behalf of the BJP, party President J P Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have been given the responsibility to hold discussions with all opposition parties. The BJP has given the responsibility to these two leaders to reconcile with the NDA, UPA and non-UPA parties.   

The Election Commission has announced the date of the presidential election. Presidential elections will be held on July 18 and on July 21, the country will get a new president. June 29 will be the last date for nominations. West Bengal CM and TMC president Mamata Banerjee convened a meeting of opposition parties on June 15 over the presidential election. He has also invited chief ministers of non-NDA parties and opposition parties. The conference will be held at the Constitution Club. Prominent leaders who have been invited include Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal, Sitaram Yechury, Uddhav Thackeray and several other opposition leaders.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar had said that a notification regarding the presidential election has been issued. A pen with special ink will be provided for voting in the election. To vote, you have to write 1,2,3 and tell the choice. If you do not say the first choice, the vote will be cancelled. The Election Commission will also give a pen for tomorrow's Rajya Sabha elections.
