Giridih: An important meeting of the people of Giridih Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj of Jharkhand took place today. This important meeting took place in the Jain temple located at Bada Chowk. In the meeting, displeasure was expressed over the proposal to make Sammed Shikhar Madhuban, the world-famous pilgrimage center of Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj, a tourist destination. Due to this, many office bearers and members of Jain society including President Ramesh Shah Jain, Minister Lokesh Sethi, Ashok Jain, Dheeraj Jain, Mahesh Jain, Bunty Jain, Rakesh Jain, Ajay Jain, Ankit Jain, Avinash Sethi participated in the protest.

The office bearers and members present said that the Sammed Shikhar of Madhuban in Giridih is known as the best pilgrimage center of the Jain community. Where pilgrims from many states of the country as well as from abroad come throughout the year. Sammed Shikhar Parasnath worships 20 Tirthankaras including Lord Parshwanath in Madhuban. In such a situation, if the state government develops this world-famous pilgrimage site as a tourist destination, then every government will have to bear its wrath. 

However, happiness was also expressed in the meeting that on Wednesday, many senior officials of Jain society like Nirmal Jain, Gajendra Jain, and other office bearers met Chief Minister Hemant Soren. On which the Jain society was assured that Sammed Shikhar would be considered for maintaining the status quo. In the meeting, the office bearers of the Jain society said that if the state government does not take a decision in the next few days, then the Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj will take out a silent procession in the entire city on Saturday in Giridih. In which apart from Giridih, the people of the Jain community of Madhuban, Isri, and Saria will participate. He said that after the silent procession, a memorandum will be handed over to the DC on behalf of the society in the name of the Chief Minister and the Governor. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Jharkhand Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar has issued instructions to DC Giridih that non-vegetarian, mutton and liquor should be banned in Jain pilgrimage and Parasnath circuit.
