National Technology Day is celebrated every year on 11th May because on 11th May 1998, India conducted the second successful nuclear test in Pokhran. After this successful test, the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had announced to celebrate National Technology Day on 11 May. All over India celebrate this day to promote the development of India's technological potential in national technology-related institutions.
From that day on 11th May every year it was decided to celebrate National Technology Day in India, it was an important achievement of India in the field of nuclear test technology. Along with this, the country's first aircraft manufactured in India, Hans 3, successfully flight tested on 11 May. The successful test of India-made Trishul missile was also done on 11 May.
