New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) president Amit Shah's comments, that the TDP's actions were theatrics, as a 'below the belt comment'. In an open letter to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Shah said that Naidu's political fortunes are falling rapidly.
Naidu called hitting below the belt to the letter writtern by Shah to the people. He said, "I condemn all this. He has written a letter to the people of Andhra Pradesh. They are hitting me below the belt. PM and Shah have to maintain the decorum... Tomorrow we are gathering here at 10:15 am. From here, we will rally & go to the President. We are 11 members only, we will give the representation to him.
In the letter Amit shah has written that Naidu is back to theatrics and histrionics. He wrote, "The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu is back to theatrics and histrionics. His desperation for grabbing headlines is understandable as he is aware that his political fortunes are declining rapidly.”
Shah was quoted as saying by news agency IANS."Sensing defeat in the coming elections, he has made multiple U-turns and is carrying on malicious propaganda against the Centre and the BJP leadership to divert people's attention from his failures. In his lust for power, the TDP leader has destroyed the very anti-Congress foundation on which the party was built by NTR, its founder.”
