Team India is scheduled to play three T20s and two Tests against Sri Lanka at home in February-March. For this, the BCCI has also announced the team. The selection committee has not yet picked Test's star wicketkeeper-batsman, Wriddhiman Saha, in the squad. When the media has questioned Chief Selector Chetan Sharma on Saha's exclusion from the team, there was no response. He has said that he cannot give the reason why Saha was not selected for the Sri Lanka series.

What did Chief Selector Chetan Sharma say?: BCCI's chief selector Chetan Sharma said in a press conference on Saturday that at the time of selection, we give more importance to age. In reality, we can't say why Wriddhiman Saha has been thrown out. But there comes a time when you can't play for a long time, you have to think about the youngsters.  Chetan Sharma has said that why Saha is not playing in the Ranji Trophy, I don't even know. This is not my jurisdiction. In this case, the state unit has the right to intervene.

Team India for T20 series: Rohit Sharma (captain), Rituraj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Jasprit Bumrah (vice-captain), Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Avesh Khan.
