Hockey player Tekchand Yadav, who was a disciple of Dhyanchand, who is called the magician of hockey, is today craving for a two-time meal. Poverty has not only brought him on the road, but his relatives have also died due to lack of treatment, but the government has nothing to do with such players. However, our national game hockey has always been neglected, and so have its players. On the other hand, not only the government but also the public is showering love and money on the cricketers.

Tekchand, who is suffering from poverty, was a disciple of hockey wizard Dhyanchand and used to show his skills by playing forward, but now this old man has been forced to live in a hut. Tekchand lost his 8-months daughter due to poverty because she could not be treated. After the daughter, his wife died due to a lack of treatment for TB. Tekchand, who was once a star hockey player, is living in such poverty today that he does not even have a two-time meal or a roof over his head, and he is living in a slum.

Reports say the water coming from the leaking roof of the hut has made all his certificates and medals useless. However, during this time the society around him has definitely come forward to support him. A restaurant located in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, has taken care of his two-time food. The thing to be noted is that this player who created history gets only 600 rupees a month from the government, and in such a small amount he is not able to get a ration even for two times food a day.

According to media reports, at the age of 82, he has no energy even to do wages. It is noteworthy that in 1961, the Indian team which defeated Holland and created history in the hockey match, Tekchand was an important player of that team. Seeing the plight of the disciple of Major Dhyanchand, who is called the magician of hockey and the mentor of star players like Mohar Singh, it seems that the government does not care about the players of their national game 'Hockey.'
