Akshay Kumar is one of the most loved actors in Bollywood. However, his last few films including Rakshabandhan, Ram Setu and Cuttputlli have not done that well in the Box office but his film became the most-watched film on OTT. His latest Cuttputlli was the most-watched Hindi film last year, as per an Ormax report. It was pretty shocking for fans as it did not earned a very good amount on Box office.
As per the omax report, Ajay Devgn's web series Rudra The Edge of Darkness, also a psychological crime thriller like Cuttputlli, was the most watched web series. As per the consultancy firm Ormax Media's latest report, the streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar has secured the top position by streaming 7 out of 15 most watched films and shows in 2022, and Pooja Entertainment has contributed a whopping 26.9 million views on Cuttputlli which is not only the most-watched film on Disney+ Hotstar but the most streamed thriller across the entire OTT spectrum.
This is not new for Akshay Kumar. Earlier, the horror-comedy Laxmii became the most-watched film that year. The actor has also bagged the top position in the list of Top Ten Male Hindi film stars, released by media insights firm Ormax in December 2022. Speaking about ths story Akshay Kumar is playing the role of cop in the movie. Kasauli turns into a death zone when a psychopath starts targeting innocent school girls. The killer is smart and intelligent, and doesn't leave a clue or trace but leaves the dead body for police to find it easily. The movie is all about how Akshay Kumar solve this case and find out the serial killer.
Cuttputtli is an official remake of a Tamil Classic, Ratsasan, however, the makers have got the runtime of the original film down from 2 hour 50 minutes to 2 hour 14 minutes. Cuttputlli Helmed by Ranjit Tewari Cuttputlli also stars Sargun Mehta, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Chandrachur Singh. The film is an intense drama that will glue you to your seats with impressive production value and superlative performances.
