Argentine football player Angel Di Maria said on Tuesday that he is going to retire after this year's Football World Cup in Qatar. Di Maria has said ahead of Wednesday's match against Italy at Wembley here that there is going to be a time of (retirement) after this World Cup. Di Maria, 34, played 121 matches for the national team and scored 24 goals. He scored the only goal for Argentina in the final of the Copa America last July, helping his team beat Brazil 1-0 to win their first major title in 28 years.
Reports say that Di Maria will also be leaving PSG in the coming summer. It has not yet been determined which team he will be appearing for in his next club football season, but he has said that it would be too selfish to continue playing internationally after all these years.
