'Thor: Love and Thunder' overtakes Kartik Aaryan and Akshay Kumar's movie

Marvel's superhero movies have been earning a lot in India for the past few years. In keeping with this tradition, 'Thor Love and Thunder' has done so much business on the very first day, as no Bollywood movie has ever done in 2022. The latest Thor movie, which was released in India on Thursday, has got an opening of over 18 crores at the box office. The movie has been released across the country in English as well as Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil.

This movie, starring Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale and Natalie Portman in the lead roles, is the fourth movie to be made on the story of Thor. The story of this movie is moving forward from Marvel's 'Avengers End Game'. Thor Ragnarok, which came out in 2017, was the superhero's last solo movie. Thor, one of Marvel's favourite superheroes, is also loved by the audience in India.  

Bollywood's biggest opening movie in 2022 was 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,' which did a business of a little over 14 crores at the box office. After which, on the list of strong earnings on the first day this year, Akshay Kumar's 'Bachchan Pandey' which had an opening of a little over 13 crores. Compared to the 18 crores of 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' Bollywood has now started lagging behind South movies as well as Hollywood movies.  

'Thor: Love and Thunder' has entered the top 5 list of Hollywood movies that did the strongest opening business in India as soon as it is released. The films that have appeared on this list are Avengers end Games (53.10 crores), Spiderman: No Way Home (32.67 crores), Avengers Infinity War (31.30 crores) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (27.50 crores).
