Bhopal: The numbers of tigers are increasing in Madhya Pradesh, although the figures are yet to be confirmed. In such a situation, arrangements for their residence, food, etc. will be made in the new areas. Work has already begun on this. The officers of the Wildlife Headquarters are drawing its blueprint. In this, it will be decided, before the next tiger census (2026), what arrangements have to be made to settle tigers in new areas. In this, not only the country but also the help of wildlife experts from abroad will be taken into consideration.
It is worth noting that in the western region of the country (Western Ghats landscape), in this census (year 2022), the growth rate of tigers has been found to be less as compared to the year 2018. There are 157 tigers left to count. Karnataka comes from this region. In the last count, Karnataka had only 2 tigers less than Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, the hope of Madhya Pradesh becoming a Tiger State has increased. In view of the increasing number of tigers, it has become necessary to create new habitats. Work is being done on this strategy.
In the then Kamal Nath government, a proposal was prepared for the formation of 11 protected areas in the state; the Shivraj government is also considering that. International workshop to be held from April 27 An international workshop is being organised in Kanha Tiger Reserve from April 27th to 29th regarding wildlife management. Apart from the country's well-known wildlife experts, experts from abroad are also being called in. These experts will stay in the park for three days and decide how to manage the tiger. What things should be kept in mind in this situation? So that the situation of human-tiger conflict does not arise when the number of tigers increases.
