Lucknow: Politics has intensified since the public murder of former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and mafia leader Atiq Ahmed. Various opposition parties have targeted the Yogi government over the murder of Atiq Ahmed. Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati tweeted from her official Twitter handle that UP has now become an encounter state.
BSP supremo Mayawati tweeted on Sunday morning (April 16) that Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, brought from Gujarat jail and Bareilly jail, were openly shot dead last night in police custody in Prayagraj. Like the heinous murder of Umesh Pal, it raises many serious question marks on the law, order, and functioning of the UP government.
