Chandrapur: The death of a tigress has created an uproar in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The tigress was found dead in a field near the railway line near Majri village of Bhadravati tehsil on Sunday morning. Railway employees had given the news of the incident to the forest department. The Forest Department team reached the spot, investigated the area, and then sent the body of the tigress for postmortem. It is feared that the tigress has lost her life due to electrocution.
Actually, the news of the tigress's body lying near the railway line near Majri village of Bhadravati tehsil was given to the forest department by the railway employees. The employees had told the forest department that the body of the tigress was lying in the field near the railway line. As soon as the news was received, immediately other people including senior officers of the Forest Department reached the spot. The dead body of the tigress can also be seen in the video which has surfaced of the incident. Dozens of people are present around. The wire is wrapped around the body of the lioness.
Forest Department officials suspect that the tigress got electrocuted and died after coming in contact with the blend of the electric wire installed in the field to protect the crop from wild animals. Forest Department officials say that we are ascertaining whether her children (cubs) are with the tigress. If they are, they will be taken to a safe place. Because like the tigress, they can also become victims of the incident.
