The government took this decision following the suggestion of intelligence agencies to ban many of China's apps. A few days ago, intelligence agencies submitted a list of 52 Chinese apps to the government, which was at risk of data theft and security. The government-banned apps also include the viral app TikTok in India. Tiktok has also been banned on this decision of the government.

Kevin Mayer, who recently became the new CEO of TikTok, has written a letter to the Government of India stating that the data of the Indian consumer is on the servers of Singapore and the company is planning to build a data center in India. Mayer wrote in a letter to the Government of India, 'I can confirm that the Chinese government has not made any request to us for the data of Indian users. If we receive such a request in the future, we cannot comply with it.'

Mayer said that despite the company being Chinese, Tiktok is not available in China. Kevin has also said that the Chinese government has never asked for data from the company. Now, considering Meyer's talk, ByteDans is lagging behind the Chinese market to catch global consumers, despite being China. Evidence of this is that TikTok is not available in China.
