After the ugly exchange of words between David Warner and Quinton de Kock during the first Test at Durban for which both the players have been charged by ICC, Australian cricketer Tim Paine has come out in support of his teammate. The Aussie wicket-keeper said Warner did not make any personal comments at de Kock and any such reports were "100% false."

"At no stage was Quinton's family mentioned, that's 100% false. I don't know how their team manager [Mohammed Moosajee] can hear from where he's sitting, but from where I was, which was right nearby the whole time, there was nothing we said that was inappropriate," Paine was quoted as on some reliable news agencies. The heated exchange between the two players took near the dressing rooms during tea on Day 4 of the Durban Test.

According to the CCTV footage from the players tunnel showed Australian opener Warner and De Kock involved in a fiery exchange as players climbed the stairwell to their dressing rooms during the tea break. The video shows Warner being restrained by Australia batsman Usman Khawaja and spin bowler Nathan Lyon as he directs a verbal barrage at De Kock, who exited the field as South Africa's not-out batsman at the same time as the Australians. Paine also moves in to block Warner before his captain Steve Smith ushers the opening batsman away.
