MUMBAI: Tina Ambani, the wife of Anil Ambani, Chairman of Reliance ADA Group, made an appearance at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai on Tuesday, 4th July, source said. This move comes as part of an ongoing investigation into potential breaches of foreign exchange regulations.

The investigation pertains to the alleged possession of undisclosed overseas assets and the movement of funds by the couple, as reported by reliable sources. Anil Ambani, aged 64, has already presented himself at the federal agency's office in the Ballard Estate area on Monday, 3rd July, providing his statement in connection with a case registered under multiple sections of the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999 (FEMA). It is anticipated that he will return to the ED later in the week to conclude the proceedings.

Anil Ambani's associations with offshore companies located in Jersey, the British Virgin Islands, and Cyprus are being scrutinized by the ED. The authorities are delving into the details to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation.

Notably, Anil Ambani has previously faced interrogation by the agency in a money laundering case involving Rana Kapoor, a promoter of Yes Bank, and other individuals in 2020. In a separate instance, the income-tax department served him a notice under the anti-black money law last year, alleging that he had evaded taxes amounting to Rs.420 crore on undisclosed funds exceeding Rs.814 crore held in two Swiss bank accounts. However, in March, the Bombay High Court granted an interim stay on the income-tax show-cause notice and penalty demand, offering temporary relief.
