One of the renowned faces in Bollywood, Tisca Chopra is all set for her upcoming series, the Dahan Disney+ Hotstar series. She plays an IAS officer in the eerie thriller. The actress in a recent interview opens up on the boycott trends and bollywood downfalls.
The actress on the current state of Bollywood said, “A lot of the makers are men of commerce. They will constantly look at things from a commercial point of view. For them, commerce involves economies of scale and a formula because you have to sell stuff. However, the business of entertainment relies on pulling a rabbit out of a hat. If you know the trick, it’s no longer magic.”
The actress further said, “Somewhere every few years, there comes a little bit of a seismic change where the makers--which include the producers and directors--need to understand that things are getting predictable and repetitive. Now, we need to rethink. Change is the order of the day.” She added, “If a little bit more energy and emphasis is put on writing and developing writing as the base upon which you build a structure, you will have far better and fresher content at all times.”
Dahan- Raakan ka Rahasya, Shilaspura, like Rajasthan’s thousands of middle-of-nowhere villages, is stuck in the past. Here, dark tales about a fabled temple have long kept people and development away. However, the modern world comes knocking at its door, when a mining corporation plans to set up a township to exploit a rare earth metal deposit below its revered temple. But for a town riddled with endless mysterious disappearances, unexpected possessions, and baffling suicides, locals staunchly believe in a myth that says that any threat to the temple will spell doom.
