Kolkata: With the Trinamool Congress (TMC) winning the counting of votes in West Bengal last Sunday, the ruling party goons are facing charges of violence. Several reports of a fire in BJP offices, the killing of workers, destroying their houses have surfaced in the media. The BJP has also claimed that two of its women poll agents were gang-raped. The All India Students' Council (ABVP) has also accused TMC goons of targeting their offices and workers.

 

 

It is alleged that TMC workers entered the office of the ABVP in Kolkata and ransacked it. At the same time, the workers present there were also assaulted. ABVP has also alleged that the goons of TMC deliberately damaged the idols of Mother Kali and Lord Hanuman. ABVP General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi said that those who raised their voice against Mamata Banerjee are being shed blood. She says that in Kolkata, 150 TMC goons came to the provincial office of ABVP shouting slogans and hooting, which created havoc. Later on Monday afternoon, 15-20 goons entered and abused and assaulted the office bearers. Pictures of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Rabindranath Tagore in the office were smashed.

 

 

According to Nidhi Tripathi, the idols of Maa Kali and Lord Hanuman were brought down and trampled with their feet. She said around 100 goons were standing around the ABVP's office. She said that the goons of the TMC were attacking saying that we will not allow those who have put soot on Mamata Didi's face and raised their voice against her to live in Bengal. She said those who raised voice TMC bent on taking revenge are shedding blood. Not only the BJP but also the Left leaders are among those who have accused the TMC of violence.

 

 

Veteran CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury also said that the manner in which TMC is celebrating its victory by violence is condemnable.  Meanwhile, reports of gang rape of two BJP polling agents from Nanur have come to light. JNU Students Union President Aishi Ghosh said Trinamool Congress should accept the mandate and it has got this mandate for the service of the people and not for violence. He said Mamata Banerjee's workers are attacking the houses of activists of opposition parties which cannot be tolerated at all.
