Bangalore: After a landslide victory in the Punjab assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eyeing Gujarat and the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections later this year. The AAP, which is gearing up for the Karnataka assembly elections, is now going to get a big face in the state. Former Bengaluru Police Commissioner ADGP rank IPS officer Bhaskar Rao is all set to join the Aam Aadmi Party.
Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will give the party membership to Bhaskar Rao on Monday (April 4). It is also being said that Bhaskar Rao may contest the 2023 election from Bengaluru's Basavanagudi assembly seat. Bhaskar Rao, a local resident of Bengaluru who has served as DCP and police commissioner, will be a big face for AAP in the 2023 elections. Bhaskar Rao comes from the Brahmin caste, so the party will do its best to woo the voters of a particular caste through him.
Bhaskar Rao had resigned from his post in September 2021. However, the Karnataka government has accepted his resignation on April 1, 2022. A native of Bengaluru, Rao has first served as the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural SP and Commissioner, Transport Department.
