Patna: In the semi-finals of hockey at the Tokyo Olympics, India lost 5-2 to Belgium. RJD leader and party vice president Shivanand Tiwari shared a post on Facebook about the defeat which is set to be a dispute. He wrote that India's performance in Tokyo is like a poor one. He has also hit out at Sachin Tendulkar for being given the Bharat Ratna.
On Facebook, Shivanand Tiwari wrote that India's success is linked to the progress of sports, but if you look at the medal table at the Tokyo Olympics, it can be inferred as to where India stands in the world. The Indian hockey team lost in the semifinals at the Olympics, he wrote. The goal difference is big. In fact, our team also looked weak in front of the world champion Belgian team. If we look at the medal table at the Olympic Games, our country looks like a poor man. Looking at the medal table, we can guess where we stand in the world.
Shivanand Tiwari also attacked former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for giving him Bharat Ratna. He wrote, "We give Bharat Ratna status to Tendulkar, who became a billionaire in the game of cricket, but we forget the hockey wizard and the real gem of the country, Dhyan Chand. Why expect another result?''
