Bhopal: The Indian men's hockey team defeated Germany 5-4 today, Thursday, to clinch the bronze medal. After nearly 41 years, India has won a medal at the Olympics. In fact, India had earlier won a gold medal at the 1980 Masco Olympics. The Indian men's hockey team also included Vivek Sagar Prasad and Neelakanta Sharma, who have been trained at the Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy. Both of them performed strongly during the match and created history by becoming Olympic medalists. According to the information received, Vivek scored brilliant goals against Japan against Argentina and Neelakanta to take the Indian team to the second position in Group A.
