Rubina Francis, an Indian shooter, qualified for the finals of the women's 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the current Tokyo Paralympics on Tuesday. Rubina, who had a strong start, ended seventh with 560 points to progress to the showcase event finals.
Rubina was in 13th place with 91 points at the end of the first series, but by the conclusion of the second essay, the Indian shooter had climbed up to sixth place with a total of 187 points. Rubina was then placed third with 282 points at the halfway mark of the qualification tournament. Her overall average score was 9.4 at the time.
Rubina`s average score dropped a little to 9.35 which also saw her moving down to fourth place after the fourth round. In the next two series, Rubina registered scores of 93 and 93 respectively to go further down at the seventh spot. She will resume her quest for the medal later on Tuesday.
