New Delhi: In order to make open defecation campaign successful, the government is motivating people to construct toilets in their homes along with non-open defecation. Making people aware of the losses due to open defecation and construction of toilets, it is being told that open defecation causes many serious diseases, so people must build toilets in their homes to prevent diseases. 

In fact, open defecation spreads germs which leads to deadly diseases like vomiting, diarrhea, malaria, cholera, jaundice and typhoid. That is why it is often seen that, where people defecate in the open, most people of that area are wasting both their money and time in diseases. Actually, groundwater is not only polluted by open sewage, but agricultural products also gets affected by it. The germs that spread the infection reach from the feces to the mouth. In the feces of infected people, thousands of insects and eggs of insects are found. They reach the mouth with dirty hands, fingers or polluted food and water. These diseases mainly include diarrhea, motile gastroenteritis (bowel resection), dysentery, jaundice, cholera, stomach worms such as stomach diseases or various skin and eye infections.

Whenever you defecate in the open which flies sit on the food and pollute it. When the flies sit on the food after sitting in the stool, they contaminate it with germs present in the stool they brought with them. By eating such food, germs enter the body. If flies are sitting or dirty hands are placed on the eating utensils, then they also become dirty. By eating in such utensils, germs enter the body. Open defecation also pollutes the environment, which spreads germs in our foods, which also increases diseases.
