Indra Kumar directorial Total Dhamaal has been minting money at the box office. The Comic caper has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark and still holding strong at the box-office despite the release of Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sonchiriya and Katrik Aaryan’s Luka Chuppi. The Film has entered the Rs 100 crore club in just 9 days of its release. Even on its eleventh day, which is essentially a weekday, the film grossed Rs 6.03 crore, taking its total box-office collection to Rs 123.80 crore.
Despite being in its second weekend, which also saw the release of Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya, Total Dhamaal was able to make Rs 23.22 crore at the box-office. Sharing the latest box- office collection of the film Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#TotalDhamaal shows excellent hold on [second] Mon... Partial holiday [#Mahashivratri] helps it surpass [second] Fri biz... Will cross ₹ 125 cr today... Eyes ₹ 150 cr... [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr, Sat 7.02 cr, Sun 11.45 cr, Mon 6.03 cr. Total: ₹ 123.80 cr. India biz.”
Despite receiving mixed reviews, Comic has turned out to be quite the box-office juggernaut. The film is an adventure comedy and the third film from the Dhamaal franchise. While, Sanjay Dutt starred in the previous two films, Dhamaal (2007) and Double Dhamaal (2011), audiences missed out on Sanju’s presence in the third film from the franchise. It stars Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and others in pivotal role.
