Mumbai: Coronavirus infection is growing very fast in Maharashtra. The second wave of corona infection has taken everyone by surprise. You must be aware that corona cases are increasing every day in Maharashtra and more than 50,000 cases of corona infection are coming up continuously. In view of this surge in corona, a weekend lockdown has been imposed across Maharashtra. This is the first time this year that the entire Maharashtra weekend has been captured in lockdown. Among all this, measures to overcome corona are going to be discussed. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has convened an important meeting today.

Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to hold a meeting with leaders of all parties through video conferencing today. It is believed that in view of the increasing cases of the corona, restrictions like lockdown are also going to be discussed, though nothing is decided. However, speculation swells over the lockdown as two Ministers of the Maharashtra government seem to be in favor of it.

On the one hand, some ministers are in favor of a lockdown, while on the one hand, some ministers have categorically denied it. Recently, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Friday that a complete lockdown of two to three weeks is needed to improve the health infrastructure in Maharashtra. The meeting is now considered crucial as anything can be decided.
