New Delhi:- The FIA is still investigating the team submissions from the 2022 campaign. During the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, it was discovered that more questions have been sent to some of the top teams to seek more explanations.

This adds to the discussion about how teams are using non-F1 parts of their business to improve their racing teams.

Some ways of taking advantage of this situation have been stopped by a rule called TD45, which says that IP cannot be shared between non-F1 businesses and teams for free. But there are still some unclear areas.

And that's why Wolff thinks that, starting from the next set of rules in 2026, there should be new regulations to prevent competitors from using the same staff for both F1 teams and other projects.

When Autosport asked how difficult it was for the FIA to keep an eye on these non-F1 activities and make sure teams don't get an unjust advantage, Wolff replied that it was very challenging. This is because big teams have thousands of employees working on different projects, both related to business and not related to business.

It's easier for us because everything is in one place. So, you can see that all the employees are in the same location, and you can tell if something has been given credit or not. It gets harder when you have different branches.

Teams' extra technology business area can bring in a lot of money, but Wolff believes it's more important to focus on making sure the cost cap is strong and there is more separation.

"It's difficult in the real world because we earn money from our engineering projects," he explained.

This means that we cannot assign someone who works in F1 to work in non-F1, even for a short time. But I believe it is important for the sport to clearly define what is and what is not F1.

And when someone devotes 10 seconds to an F1 project, they should be completely focused on F1. "We definitely need to go in that direction. "
